Otsego County Representative Meg Kennedy briefed the Milford Town Board on county resources and reminders at the Feb. 18 meeting. She said Community Events Grants are open with a total pool of roughly $50,000–$60,000 and that the largest individual award is $2,000; applications are accepted through the Otsego County website until Feb. 22, 2026.
Kennedy said county leaders traveled to Albany to press state lawmakers to continue funding programs that the county administers, urging legislators to "do no harm" if federal funding streams lapse. She also told the board that tourism businesses may be eligible to advertise on ThisIsCooperstown.com under the I Love New York matching funds guidelines. As a winter safety reminder, Kennedy asked residents to check on neighbors and elderly family and provided the Milford Fire Department non‑emergency number, (607)547-1697, for well checks.
