Milford board adopts resolution to dedicate Huber Hill Road to town highway inventory

The Milford Town Board on Dec. 17 adopted a resolution to dedicate Huber Hill Road to the town’s highway inventory under Section 171 of the Highway Law of the State of New York. Highway Superintendent Billy Sutphin told the board the town already maintains the road and asked the Department of Transportation to add it to the town’s inventory.
"A MOTION by Council Member John Davis, seconded by Council Member Vera Sosnowski to adopt the Resolution regarding dedication of Huber Hill Road under Section 171 of the Highway Law of the State of New York." The resolution passed with a recorded vote of three in favor and none opposed. The board members present — Supervisor Casey Eckler, Council Member Vera Sosnowski and Council Member John Davis — voted yes; two council members were absent.
Sutphin also reported that winter plowing conditions have improved and that the town has received its CHIPS payment, which supports local highway work. The board did not discuss immediate capital expenditures tied to the dedication; the resolution formalizes the town’s maintenance responsibility and enables state-level inventory recognition.
