The Milford Town Board voted July 16 to adopt updated versions of its Policy Against Discrimination and Harassment and its Workplace Violence Prevention Program. Council Member Kristen Velasco moved to accept the revisions and Council Member Harold Couse seconded; the motion passed with all present voting in favor and Council Member John Davis absent.
The board determined that the Compliance Officers for both policies will be the Town Supervisor and the Town Highway Superintendent. Council Member Velasco moved the policy acceptance; "A MOTION made by Council Member Velasco, seconded by Council Member Couse, to accept the updated Town of Milford Policy Against Discrimination and Harassment and the Town of Milford Workplace Violence Prevention Program," the meeting minutes record. The board’s action places the updated policies into the town’s personnel rules and assigns oversight responsibilities to officials already on staff.
The vote came during the Town Supervisor’s communications portion of the July meeting, after the board reviewed the written policy updates. The minutes do not record additional procedural steps or an effective date beyond the motion and vote.
