Millerton trustees complete reorganization, appoint board chairs and village officers

The Village of Millerton Board of Trustees completed its reorganizational business during a meeting whose header lists July 8, 2025 but whose minutes state the meeting "was held Thursday, May 21, 2025." Mayor Jenn Najdek presided as trustees approved a slate of appointments and internal roles.

Trustee David Sherman moved, and Trustee Matt Soleau seconded, "to appoint Patti LynchVandeBogart as Planning Board Chair, Kelly Kilmer as Zoning Board of Appeals Chair, Lisa Cope as Village Clerk/Treasurer, and Matt Hartzog as Deputy Mayor." The motion is recorded in the minutes as passing with "All five (5) present members agreed." The roll-call paragraph earlier in the minutes lists Mayor Jenn Najdek, Deputy Mayor Matt Hartzog, Trustee David Sherman, Trustee Matt Soleau, Trustee Katie Cariello and Clerk/Treasurer Lisa Cope as present; the minutes therefore contain an internal inconsistency about the number of members recorded as voting (see audit notes).

Following the appointments, trustees assigned committee roles: Deputy Mayor Hartzog and Trustee Katie Cariello to Events/Community Development/Celebrations, Trustee David Sherman to Public Works, and Deputy Mayor Hartzog additionally to Trees/Recreation. Remaining committee assignments were deferred to a later date. The reorganizational actions were recorded as unanimous in the meeting text.

The appointments take effect immediately as recorded in the minutes; the board set additional committee organization to be completed at a future meeting. The minutes were later signed and show a "Date approved: July 29, 2025."
