Commissioners probe parking, water utilities and sidewalk continuity for Eagle Creek proposal

Commissioners used the technical review period to press staff and the petitioner on parking, water-service responsibilities and sidewalk continuity.
Village Planner Scott Goldstein told the commission that "2.5 spaces are required per 3-bedroom unit," and that the petitioner’s proposal included an overflow lot and four parking spaces per unit so parking relief was not needed. Commissioner Brian Hope asked about water utilities; Village Administrator Mike Strong said "the Village would be responsible for the water main, but services to the units would be privately maintained." Commissioner Tracy Lucas raised sidewalk continuity along Cedar Lake Road; the petitioner explained the right-of-way is owned by Lake County and "the sidewalk along Cedar Lake Road would terminate at the bridge over Eagle Creek and that they wouldn’t be able to extend that south due to the creek."
