The Laraway C.C.S.D. 70-C board on Aug. 12 approved a multi-item consent agenda that covered bills payable, payroll, personnel actions and the destruction of a June 17, 2025 audio recording of a prior regular meeting. Mrs. Fleet moved the motion, which Mrs. Matenaer seconded; Brass, Fleet, Hopkins, D Matenaer, M Matenaer and Washington voted aye and President Knight abstained (6-0-1).
The consent agenda listed specific personnel items: an FMLA request for teacher Jodi Ferlin; resignations including Beth McDonald (Art Club sponsor), Jessica Thelen (teaching assistant), Kristen Rojas (social worker), Michelle McKinney (special education teacher) and Kristine Lunt-Petricas (teacher intern); and new hires including Silvia Onate (social worker), Jill Anaya (special education teacher), Jenny Kerchenfaut (teacher mentor), Alicia Knight (transportation director) and several instructional assistants and substitutes. The motion also authorized destruction of the audio session tape from the June 17, 2025 regular board meeting as part of the consent items.
Board procedure: the motion was decided by roll-call vote as recorded in the minutes; there were no nays and one abstention by the president. No further debate or amendments to the consent agenda were recorded.
