District says Los Altos pool testing found no anomalies; Wilson stadium damaged by copper thefts

The superintendent also updated the board on multiple copper thefts at Wilson High School's stadium: on Aug. 20, 2024 the theft damaged multiple electrical boxes and high‑voltage wiring; on Nov. 18 additional switchgear and breakers were stolen. Because critical cabling runs under concrete and turf, staff said accurately estimating damage will require further testing and contractor assessments; repairs may trigger formal bidding under the California Public Contract Code. As an interim safety step, the district installed solar‑powered light towers to sustain practices and campus safety while contractors prepare damage estimates.
