Stocks described Phase 1 as replacement of 2,700 feet of 6-inch water main and 3,900 feet of 8-inch main, with the installation of two fire hydrants and valves. Phase 2 was described as replacement of 600 feet of 6-inch main. Phase 3 would install 6,000 feet of 6-inch main and 13 fire hydrants.
Stocks presented the scope and counts for mains and hydrants as the public-hearing record was opened; the hearing transcript states the project plans were approved by the IEPA and that public comment is the final step in the administrative process. Written comments are being accepted for 10 days after the Nov. 24 meeting date.
The board received the presentation and did not take further action on the project at the hearing itself; the record indicates the meeting adjourned after the public-comment window was announced.
