The Town of Montour Board on March 11 approved a supplemental agreement and local appropriation tied to the Fitzpatrick Hill Road bridge replacement project, authorizing the town to pay right-of-way incidentals and acquisition costs and appropriating $26,386 from the Bridge Fund.
Clerk Gloria Stigers presented a letter and supplemental agreement regarding right-of-way acquisition for the Bridge NY project (BIN 2216050). The board adopted Resolution #15 authorizing the town to advance the project and to pay 100% of right-of-way incidentals and acquisition costs, "with the understanding that qualified costs may be eligible for federal-aid, state-aid, or reimbursement from Bridge NY funds," according to the adopted resolution text.
The resolution also commits the town to begin construction no later than 24 months after award and to complete the construction phase within 30 months. It further authorizes the Supervisor to execute all necessary agreements and reimbursement requests with the New York State Department of Transportation. The resolution states explicitly that the Town of Montour will be responsible for costs that exceed awarded federal or state aid.
The measure passed on a recorded motion (mover: Councilperson Brian Stamp; seconder: Councilperson Robert Simpson) and carried by an affirmative vote of 4–0. The board included the bridge appropriation and gateway conditions in the formal resolution adopted at the meeting.
