Village engineer: sanitary sewer lining could start as soon as mid‑January

Village Engineer Brian Nott told the Lena Village Board on Dec. 8 that work to line sections of the sanitary sewer system is being coordinated with Trustee Brandon Smith and President Steve Buss and could begin as early as mid‑January, pending final testing and bidding. Nott said smoke and dye testing will be used to identify infiltration points before lining begins.
Nott also reported that Bridgette Stocks is completing plan approval for Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) water improvements and that he recently met with Smith and Buss to discuss the village’s water treatment plant. The board did not take formal action on additional water spending at the meeting but listed infrastructure priorities for staff follow‑up.
