Council backs moving forward with "Northtown Days" concept and asks staff to draft contract

Representatives of the North Kansas City Rotary (Emily Morgan) described a proposed Oktoberfest-style fundraiser on October 10 (noon–6 p.m.) that would function as a year‑one anchor; organizers requested a $20,000 tourism grant to support the event and indicated an additional $20,000 in the proposed city budget would support branding and communications for the overall Northtown Days campaign. City staff said if council was agreeable they would prepare a contract for services similar to previous festival arrangements; the council generally signaled support and asked staff to return with contract language.
