Parks maintenance facility site moved to align with stormwater plan; basin will be smaller than master-plan detention

She said the facility's compensatory-storage depression would be about 143 by 110 feet and roughly 3 feet deep; in contrast, staff noted the master-plan detention basin concept for the same general area would be larger and about 7 feet deep. "Our portion...is about a 143 feet by about a 110," Victoria said when summarizing the maintenance facility footprint.
Commissioners asked whether the excavation overlaps park features such as the gazebo and tennis courts; Victoria and Anthony said it does not appear to conflict and that the graded area would remain usable for recreation when dry. Staff cautioned that because part of the site is in the levee critical zone, the facility design and foundation must meet Army Corps standards before construction can proceed.
