City staff told the North Kansas City Planning Commission they discovered a prior Cerner Campus PUD resolution was never recorded with the county and asked the commission to remove a recording condition from the current amendment.
"We realized that the former resolution was never recorded with the county," Shu, director of community development, said, explaining staff prepared a new resolution (2026-02) to remove Condition 3 that directed staff to record the PUD with the county. Shu told commissioners that recording is not a code requirement and described the change as a technical cleanup of a previously unrecorded action.
Commissioner S2 moved to approve the amendment; the motion was seconded and commissioners voiced their support. The commission approved the amendment as presented. The action was presented as a ministerial correction rather than a substantive policy change; staff said the PUD's other conditions and project context remain unchanged.
