City manager reports on Hooke Road, Kimmel Road, delinquent trash accounts and $10,000 grant

City Manager Elaine briefed the council on ongoing capital projects and administrative matters. She said Hooke Road storm-sewer work is complete, curb work and conduit installation for lighting are scheduled, and aggregate and asphalt work (plus a multi-use path) should be completed on one side by early August. On Kimmel Road, she said paving operations have begun and rolling closures are expected while maintaining access for residents and emergency vehicles.
Elaine told council staff mailed about 450 notices to delinquent trash-account holders and gave property owners until Aug. 7 to remit payment before assessment to taxes. She also announced: "the city of Clayton has been awarded the $10,000 grant from the Del Mar healthcare Fund to support the age friendly community needs." Council asked for clarification about contractor notification practices for cable work and the manager said the city requires permits for larger work areas and will contact contractors when residents report issues.
