City manager: natural-gas aggregation extended to April 2028; Hoke Road sewer line nearly complete

Whitman said the NBCC aggregation committee adopted a resolution to include Clayton and extend the group contract through April 2028, keeping the fixed rate as stated in the notice (0.6625 cents per CCF). Residents will receive letters in late August with an option to opt out; the aggregation is scheduled to take effect in November. Whitman said the city will communicate details to residents.
On Hoke Road, Whitman said sewer-line installation is expected to be complete by the end of the week, after which AES will move poles back into the new right-of-way to reduce intermittent outages. Road and walking-path work is scheduled to finish by October, she said.
