The board approved a $2,000 proposal from Captivate Media & Consulting to publicize the district's 1% sales tax process. The motion, moved by Mrs. Ragon and seconded by Mr. Shear, carried on a roll call with only Brandon Lang voting nay.
Separately, Superintendent Johnson told the board that school boards across Tazewell County representing more than 10,000 students have passed resolutions to place the 1% sales tax referendum on the November 3 ballot. The district also expects a pre-construction meeting for a door replacement project and noted a modest FY2026 library grant of $850 and a pending Dollar for Dairy grant application.
