The Moriah Central School District Board of Education on June 17 accepted several personnel changes and retirement notices and made multiple appointments. The board accepted the resignation of Jill Shpur effective June 5, 2025, and accepted intent-to-retire letters from Valerie Mildon (District Treasurer, effective June 30, 2026) and Dayton Dedrick (Technology Teacher, effective Aug. 31, 2025). Motions were moved and seconded as recorded; the minutes state each motion was carried "All in favor."
The board appointed Chynna Allen to the position of Confidential School Secretary, a 12-month confidential position at a salary of $44,346 effective July 1, 2025. The board also accepted the resignation of Modified Baseball Coach Steven Congemi (who will reimburse the district $892.68 for three weeks of pay) and appointed Austin Smith to serve as Modified Baseball Coach for the final three weeks at a rate of $892.68. Additional retirements and resignations recorded include Amy Allen (Teacher Aide) and Kristina Oliver-Hayes (Elementary Teacher), both effective June 30, 2025.
