Morehouse board approves 2026 appointments, committee assignments

At the Jan. 6 meeting the Morehouse Town Board approved the 2026 slate of town appointments and committee assignments. Appointments included Administrative Assistant Karen M. Fernandez; Deputy Town Supervisor Mary Ann Mosher; Deputy Town Clerks Jennifer Tichenor and Brianna Bellidoro; Town Attorney William P. Schmitt, Esq.; Town Court Clerk Michelle Freidman; Town Historian Stephanie Tichenor and deputy historians Jennifer Tichenor and Brianna Bellidoro; Zoning and Codes Enforcement Officer Leonard Croote Jr.; and Animal Control Officer William Uebele with Pricilla Uebele as deputy.
The board also distributed committee responsibilities among members for topics including streetlights and cemeteries, reassessment, insurance, buildings and highways, solid waste, tourism and recreation center projects. When Sonya DeVuyst questioned whether the Town Clerk needed two deputies, Supervisor Fernandez said that state law allows the clerk up to three deputies and noted there is budgeted funding for the positions. "It's the State Law; she is entitled to 3 deputies," Fernandez said. The board voted to accept the appointments.
