Board creates and funds parks and recreation director post to manage snowmobile trails
Summary

Supervisor Anthony Fernandez told the board the snowmobile groomers have cleared trails of downed trees, found several bridges that need repair and have a new groomer delivered and being set up. He said the town worked with Highway Superintendent Hugh Farber and is transferring the director role for snowmobile trails to the highway superintendent’s office.
The board approved Resolution #25-10-6 creating and funding an account for Parks and Recreation Director personal services. The role was described in the meeting as a new position with a $125-per-month payment to cover responsibilities including trail oversight; Mary Ann Mosher moved to approve the resolution and Sonya DeVuyst seconded the motion, which carried with four ayes and one absent.
Supervisor Fernandez also said the town is still collecting property-owners’ certificates of insurance related to trail access and repairs; the board expects to follow up with repair plans for identified bridges.
