The Town of Fishkill board voted Aug. 5 to award the Town Hall sidewalk installation RFP to Gonzales Landscaping as the lowest and most qualified bidder at $49,000, well under the $85,000 budgeted amount. The supervisor presented the resolution and said the project facilitator and town staff reviewed the proposals and recommended Gonzales as "the most responsible, lowest, and best qualified" bidder.
The motion was seconded and approved by voice vote. The resolution authorizes the supervisor to execute all documents necessary to contract with Gonzales Landscaping, subject to review by the town attorney. Board members noted two bids were received: Gonzales at $49,000 and Nature Works at about $59,000–$60,000; the supervisor said awarding the lower bid saves roughly $16,000 against the previously discussed $65,000–$85,000 budget estimates.
