Board approves several Job and Family Services contracts totaling about $1.6 million

At the July 1 meeting the Board of Clark County Commissioners approved a package of contracts requested by the Department of Job and Family Services (JFS) to support family services, workforce development and accessibility services.
Commissioner Charles A. Patterson moved to authorize a TANF- and levy-funded $185,308.58 contract with Encompass Connection Center "to provide parents within Clark County with simple, effective parenting strategies and tools designed to de-escalate conflict and enhance safety for children and their families." The board also approved a $1,143,988.40 contract with Goodwill Easterseals Miami Valley to provide WIOA youth elements including financial literacy, work experience, leadership, adult mentorship and entrepreneurial skills.
The board approved a Koorsen Fire & Security contract for $16,163 to provide inspections, maintenance and repairs of fire safety equipment for JFS and a Propio LS contract up to $150,000 to provide LEP and ASL interpretation and translation services to Clark County families. All four items were moved by Commissioner Patterson, seconded by Commissioner Kaffenbarger, and passed by recorded roll calls.
