Rankin School District #98 earns 'Exemplary' rating for third straight year

Rankin School District #98 reported that it earned an 'Exemplary' summative designation for the 2024-25 school year and placed in the top 10% among Illinois schools, district leaders told the board at the Nov. 17 meeting.
Principal and athletic director Nick Beard and Dr. Gordon presented the district report card and thanked staff, student groups and families for their roles in the outcome. Dr. Gordon noted the achievement was a team effort and thanked the staff and community for their continued support. The board took no additional action beyond accepting the report.
Board members also heard an enrollment update: Dr. Gordon reported current enrollment at 208 students. The district said it will highlight the results at the December meeting and continue monitoring performance measures into FY26.
"Rankin’s success is a result of everyone’s dedication and teamwork," Mr. Beard said during the report, framing the designation as a community achievement.
The report card approval was later included among action items the board approved as part of routine business during the meeting.
