Trustee report: Boy Scouts build garden boxes, cabling replaced and intercoms slated for replacement
Summary
The Building & Sites committee reported summer facilities work including Boy Scouts assembling PTO-donated garden boxes, completion of network cabling replacement at MacArthur and Grodsky, and discussion and subsequent approval of intercom replacements at Sullivan and the Grodsky Administration Building.
During committee reports at the Aug. 14 meeting, Trustee Carol Botwinski told the board that Boy Scouts led by Eagle Scout candidate Gavin Salefski assembled and placed garden boxes donated by the PTO for the Ross/Sullivan garden project. Botwinski also reported that Low Voltage Wiring completed network cabling replacements at MacArthur and Grodsky and that electrical work in the Ross/Sullivan MP room to support food service equipment was underway.
Board discussion included door intercom replacements for Sullivan and the Grodsky Administration Building, which administrators described as obsolete and unrepairable. The board later approved a Procom proposal for $12,455 to replace those intercom systems. Trustees also received updates on concrete and paving summer projects and a comprehensive review of custodial summer work.
