County OKs roughly $492,000 in youth services contracts including mentoring and farm program

The Board authorized multiple Department of Job & Family Services contracts aimed at youth at risk. Family & Youth Initiatives will provide mentoring under a $306,004.68 contract funded by TANF and the Children Services Levy (effective July 1, 2026–June 30, 2028). The board also approved a $161,124.44 subgrant to On-The-Rise to fund a year-round farm program for at-risk youth that addresses life and social skills, academics and behavioral issues (July 1, 2026–June 30, 2028). A separate $25,000 contract with the United Way of Clark, Champaign and Madison Counties will fund information and referral services for residents (July 1, 2026–June 30, 2027).
Commissioners approved the measures by roll call (Resolutions 2026-0471, 0472, 0473). Staff emphasized these are TANF and levy-funded programs intended to provide direct services and referrals; contract documents authorize the County Administrator to execute purchase orders and agreements. An extension for Adriel School was also authorized for one year with no change to the original $30,000 contract amount (Resolution 2026-0470).
