Clark County signs intergovernmental agreement for 2026 resurfacing project; local share $2.33 million

The Board authorized an intergovernmental agreement for the 2026 Roadway Resurfacing Project that commits Clark County, Bethel Township, German Township, Harmony Township, Moorefield Township, Springfield Township, the Village of South Charleston and the City of New Carlisle to cooperate on resurfacing work.
County documents show the total local share for the project is $2,329,664.67, to be funded with MV> (motor vehicle and gas tax) funds and contributions from the participating townships and municipalities. Commissioner Charles A. Patterson moved the resolution and Commissioner Greg R. Kaffenbarger seconded; the roll call was unanimous (Resolution 2026-0469).
The County Engineer requested the agreement to allow coordinated bidding and execution of the resurfacing contract; commissioners authorized the County Administrator to execute the intergovernmental agreement and related documents. Staff said the effective dates run June 17, 2026 through December 31, 2026.
