Moira authorizes Highway Department to assist emergency response on private property

The Moira Town Board adopted Resolution #99-2025 on May 13 authorizing the Superintendent of Highways to use town highway equipment and labor, at his discretion and upon request of emergency services, to remove snow or ice from private roads and to assist in mitigating hazards on private property when those hazards pose a public-safety risk.
The resolution directs that such uses be coordinated with emergency services and code enforcement officials. Members adopted the measure by unanimous consent. The resolution applies to emergencies within the Town of Moira and the Village of Brushton and is intended to facilitate timely access for emergency responders.
