Planning Commission hears Board of Supervisors' time extensions, Data Center hearing continued

At the March 5 meeting, Board Liaison Laura Brown summarized actions taken by the Board of Supervisors. Brown said the Board approved time extensions for the Silver Spring PFAS Treatment Plant and the Donald Lenk Nursery plans and extended the Recycling Center conditional-use review until July 31, 2026.
Brown also reported the Data Center hearing was continued so applicants can revise submissions; the hearing is expected to resume May 27, 2026. She told commissioners that the township currently has no undeveloped land in the "12" zoning district that would allow a data center unless existing buildings are removed or repurposed.
Brown relayed a boundary concern raised at the Board meeting about the McGuire subdivision; Solicitor Schultz said the dispute likely would not prevent approval, but a 2-2 split among supervisors resulted in no action and the Board agreed to a time extension until April 9, 2026 to allow reconsideration. The liaison report also included logistics: the March Board meeting will be at the PSSI building (400 Bent Creek Blvd) with facility tours at 5:00 p.m., and a public meeting on April 14 will discuss planned enhancements at the Woods Drive and Route 114 intersection.
