The Sept. 18 meeting concluded with Appendix A, a list of six action items assigning next steps to town staff and the Select Board.
Key tasks include: 1) the Town Manager and Select Board will explore whether the property owner is open to a fixed price and a grace period for fundraising; 2) promote and continue the public survey via QR code and the Town website; 3) identify eligible grants (Working Waterfront Access Protection Program, Working Waterfront Resiliency Grants, Land and Water Conservation Fund, ferry grants) and contact Maine Working Waterfront Coalition and local land trusts for technical help; 4) approach local philanthropic individuals and businesses about potential funding or partnerships; 5) invite volunteers with grant-writing, fundraising, or marina-management expertise; and 6) post meeting notes, resources, and recordings to the Town website and report updates at future Selectmen’s meetings.
These items constitute direction rather than final decisions; no purchase or binding commitment was recorded at the meeting.
