Cynthia Mason, president of the Oak Harbor Music Festival board, presented the festival's annual report to council on Aug. 5 and invited the mayor and council to attend Labor Day weekend events, including opening ceremonies on Friday, Sept. 4.
Mason said the festival is entering its 15th year, invoked nearly 1,900 board volunteer hours for the event, and listed sponsors and vendor types that help keep the festival free. She said "as of 2025 cumulatively, over $130,000 has been awarded" in scholarships and programs supporting high‑school and middle‑school music education on Whidbey Island. Mason also noted the festival funds a summer concert series on the green and is exploring expansion to grammar-school programs.
Council Member Romero thanked Mason and the board for their leadership and results. The presentation included a short video recap of last year's festival.
