Commission to refine draft and inform Board of Supervisors; EIR scoping expected later

Presenters told the commission the Board of Supervisors had been kept informed at a high level about the schedule and deliverables but had not received formal deliverables. The presenter described the remaining process as including additional workshops, an EIR scoping meeting and further public engagement.
As the presenter put it, the planning commission acts as the subject-matter expert at this stage: "This is what planning commission is recommending per, you know, this piece of grading. So it would be part of the it can be a part of the larger discussion with them." The presenter recommended that policy-level questions be handled at the legislative level by the Board of Supervisors rather than decided at the workshop technical level.
Next steps: the commission will continue refining the draft zoning code, document areas for Board consideration and prepare for scoping and environmental review steps later in the process.
