Local organizers promote NorCal procurement fair and free SBDC advising for rural businesses

Tammy Douse of Discover Siskiyou and AJ Brown, assistant for economic development, reported a sold-out regional tourism conference in Mount Shasta and highlighted regional small-business supports available through the Shasta SBA Small Business Development Center (SBDC).
"For many rural businesses, these connections are incredibly important," Brown said, describing the SBDC's no-cost, confidential advising and training and promoting the NorCal procurement fair and preparatory workshops that help local firms access government contracting opportunities.
Tammy Douse added that May is both Small Business Month and a time to celebrate tourism, and she said the Discover Siski team is continuing outreach and will engage with the board again this month. The board thanked the presenters and acknowledged county participation in upcoming procurement events.
