Pateros council declares riverfront property surplus and authorizes transfer to Douglas PUD

The Pateros City Council approved Resolution 2026-13 on May 18 to declare certain real property along the Columbia River between Riverside Drive and Lakeshore Drive as surplus and to authorize an interlocal transfer to the Douglas County Public Utility District (Douglas PUD) in exchange for property from the PUD. Councilmember Frank Herbert moved the resolution; Councilmember Mike Harding seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
City Administrator Jord Wilson told the council he did not anticipate changes to park responsibilities or contract management with the PUD following the transfer. The resolution authorizes the mayor to execute documents necessary to effect the transfer; the council did not set further conditions during the meeting.
