Superintendent Kirby announces return to 2020 Title IX guidance, MASA attendance and a Jan. 20 safety‑focused PD day

Superintendent Ben Kirby delivered several administrative updates to the Curriculum Committee on Jan. 15.
Kirby said he would be attending the local MASA Winter Conference for the remainder of the week. He also announced a policy change: "the district will be going back to using the 2020 Title IX guidance and vacating the 2024 guidance," and said district policy revisions would proceed with the legal team.
Kirby described the district's annual professional development day on Monday, Jan. 20, 2025: "this year the focus will be on school safety and security in the morning." In the afternoon, elementary buildings will work on TRAILS training while secondary buildings focus on security and safety protocols supported by SROs. The meeting adjourned at 3:57 p.m.
