At its Nov. 17 meeting the Robertson County Commission approved a package of grants and capital expenditures brought forward by the budget committee.
Commissioner Bobby Couch presented a $92,051 grant to the sheriff’s department intended to fund training, travel and related payroll costs. The commission also approved $80,000 from the capital fund to buy two 2027 Freight 100 dump trucks for the highway department, and $60,657 for HVAC improvements at the county jail to proceed with a replacement phase. Couch also presented distribution of $581,326 in state and federal Board of Education funds, a $300,000 allocation for a violent crime intervention grant, and a Homeland Security grant of $21,284 to Emergency Management.
Several items were considered under a suspension of the rules to allow second readings and immediate funding where noted.
