Commissioners approve jail roof and engineering studies for county buildings

The Potter County Commissioners approved several capital contracts and related engineering studies for county buildings. The board accepted the sole bid for the jail sally port roof from Signet Construction for $58,000 and approved three separate professional engineering quotes from CJ Wallace Engineering LLC to evaluate and design projects on the Dunsburger Building roof ($23,000), Veil rubber roof ($17,000) and a courthouse accessible‑entrance study ($30,000).
Commissioners said the projects will be financed by a previously authorized bond issue to spread the cost over time. Commissioner Heimel noted maintenance director Joe Kurtz reviewed the proposals and recommended they meet technical requirements. Each motion was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote.
