Shandaken CAC: comprehensive plan draft posted; NRI to inform planning and funding

The CAC reported the comprehensive plan final draft is posted online after three public meetings; the Natural Resources Inventory (NRI) will provide plot-by-plot maps and narrative and may unlock additional funding and Climate Smart Community progress.
Committee member (S2) said the comprehensive plan's final draft has been posted on the town website following three public meetings in Pine Hill, Phoenicia and Town Hall and a closed two-week comment period. "The final draft version was put up on the website," she said, and members said a final report should be delivered and then go to the Town Board for additional hearings prior to adoption.
Members described the NRI (Natural Resources Inventory) as a collection of maps and narratives that will be useful for land-use planning, identifying environmental and cultural resources plot-by-plot, and clarifying which state or regional agencies manage nearby lands. The council encouraged residents to add photographs to a photo-blitz running through the summer to help illustrate the NRI.
