Supervisor Mansfield told the board that the Catskill Watershed Corporation has approved funding for purchase of real property on Route 28 intended for a town hall complex and highway garage. He emphasized floodplain and emergency-access reasons for seeking a site other than the school: critical facilities should be out of flood-prone locations to ensure access during disasters.
The board moved and adopted a resolution approving the agreement with the Catskill Watershed Corporation to initiate the property purchase process. Mansfield thanked the CWC for their approval and noted the agreement was intended to keep emergency operations accessible in future storms.
