He told the board that the Zoning Board of Appeals had already approved the use and area variances required for the project and that the company’s submissions show the facility "will not exceed any threshold emissions" required by the FCC.
Board members reviewed a draft resolution provided by Verizon and discussed minor language edits. After a motion to accept the resolution, the clerk conducted a roll-call vote; every listed board member answered "Yes," and the resolution passed.
The applicant noted the county continues to negotiate lease and site details for other potential locations; Verizon said the county is working with the property owner on those matters. The company also said it is exploring alternate county properties after earlier opposition at another proposed site in Phoenicia.
The board attached the approved resolution to the meeting record; the planning board chair closed discussion on the item and moved on to other agenda business.
