Lorain County sets public hearings on 1/4% sales tax to fund jail administrative services

The resolution directs that legal notices be published in the Chronicle Telegram and the Morning Journal on June 26 and July 3, 2026. The journal entry records “Motion by Moore, seconded by Riddell,” and lists the roll-call result as Ayes: Moore, Riddell & Gallagher; Nays: None. No public testimony or debate appears in the recorded minutes. The hearings will provide opportunities for residents and stakeholders to comment before the tax is placed on the Nov. 3, 2026 ballot under ORC 5739.021 and 5741.021.
