Director Garry Gibbs said rising fuel and other costs led to the request; Rob Duncan moved the measure and Commissioner David J. Moore seconded. The resolution (VB 26-13) passed by roll call vote with Ayes from Duncan, Moore, Billings, Phillips and Mullins and no recorded nays.
The additional funding is intended to cover increased operational expenses for the July 11 Discover Aviation Airport & Car Show. The minutes record the board’s authorization but do not detail a final event budget or reporting timeline; implementation is to be handled by the Visitors Bureau.
