Two finalists for the Swartz Creek superintendent search, Dr. Robert Bueche and Mr. Kenneth Janczarek, each gave a 15-minute presentation to the board and responded to roughly an hour of questions from board members. The sessions were part of second-round interviews conducted during the Feb. 25 meeting.
After the presentations and questioning, Sheila Alles of Ray and Associates led a debrief during which each board member shared views on the finalists. That facilitated discussion preceded two motions: a unanimous vote to offer the superintendent position to the selected finalist and a unanimous vote authorizing two board officers to begin contract negotiations.
