Police advisory hears about $20,000 PRCS reimbursement pot to cover probation assistance

He said that following AB 109 (the state realignment), counties received funds to assist probation responsibilities and that the department now has a $20,000 PRCS account that allows police to submit reimbursement claims when they help probation activities.
Carvelli framed the arrangement as a budgetary help: "we actually just finally got this implemented this year... we have a pot of $20,000 to where if we help probation with something PRCS related, we can then bill the county under this PRCS account, and we get refunded for that time." Commissioners asked whether similar agreements exist with other partners; Carvelli said the AB 109 language required cost‑sharing and that the PD still provides mutual support to other agencies even without formal billing arrangements.
