New Buffalo Area Schools board approves consent agenda including personnel items and policy re-adoption

At its Jan. 12 meeting the New Buffalo Area Schools Board approved a consent agenda containing routine administrative items. The consent package included selection of regular meeting times and the board retreat dates (Jan. 28 and Aug. 10, 2026), designation of banks as depositories and authorized signatories, copy charges, supervision of elections, re-adoption of existing board policies, and instructions to post legal notices in the New Buffalo Times.
The board also approved administrative delegations (designation of staff authorized to issue work permits and authorization for Superintendent Adam Bowen or his designee to sign documents for property sale/purchase), accepted the resignation of Rebecca O'Donnell, and approved a personal matter resolution. The motion to adopt the consent agenda was moved by Lisa Werner, seconded by Vanessa Thun, and carried with all ayes.
