Forest Hills board approves $26.25 million Central High renovation, awards mechanical contracts

President Fauson called the Forest Hills Board of Education meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 20, 2025. As part of a consent grouping motion moved by Member Terryn and seconded by Member Ninemeier, the board approved a set of capital contracts and related purchases by a 6–0 roll‑call vote.
The board approved contracts to perform construction work at Central High at a total cost of $26,248,882, described in the minutes as including contingency, fees, general conditions and allowances. Mechanical work contracts for Eastern High and Central Middle were awarded to Rite‑Way Plumbing and Heating, Inc., for amounts not to exceed $1,310,750 and $1,603,400, respectively. The board also approved cafeteria furniture purchases for Northern High not to exceed $371,615 and office furniture for Eastern Middle not to exceed $84,200. These approvals were recorded under the consent grouping (VI. A.–C.).
