Poulsbo Tree Board explores 'forest bank' model to preserve canopy amid development

Members discussed the fit of established wetland-bank approaches for forest preservation and supported reviewing municipal examples to draft potential recommendations for the city.
The board noted that implementing a forest bank would likely require ordinance changes, clear standards for developer contributions and partnership mechanisms with local conservancies. S2 and staff will report back after their research and initial meetings.
