Poulsbo Tree Board seeks to fill three open seats as outreach ramps up

The Poulsbo Tree Board opened its first meeting of the year by flagging three vacancies and stepping up recruitment efforts, the board chair said.
"We do have, 3 3 more positions open," said the chair (S2), inviting members to share outreach ideas. Members reported dropping flyers at local nurseries and businesses and identified a Valley Nursery contact who expressed interest. Maxwell (committee member) and others volunteered to help promote board openings through social media, local columns and existing community videos.
Board members discussed residency balance—confirming a mix of members inside and outside Poulsbo is allowed by ordinance—and committed to targeted outreach to meet city residency requirements. The group agreed to ask the library and local media to help amplify recruitment messages and to reuse a prior BCAT video for promotion.
Next steps: members will circulate application links, reach out to the Great Peninsula Conservancy and local nurseries, and follow up by email with potential candidates. The chair said staff will continue to post notices on community pages and track responses via a shared spreadsheet.
