Town reports: Nov. 8 5K request, blood drive results and memorial bench plan

Town Clerk Holly Willis told the Board that Marianna Dunn requested use of town sidewalks for Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority's untimed 5K walk/run on Nov. 8, 2025 at 9:00 a.m.; the Board asked Dunn to coordinate details with Chief Tony Lee. Willis also reported that The Blood Connection's Sept. 23 blood drive had 19 donors, 4 insufficient donations and 12 whole units collected, which the organization estimates could help save 36 local lives; Possumwood Acres will receive a $150 charitable donation tied to the drive.
Willis further reported that Chuck Moody plans to purchase a bench through the Town to be placed along the sidewalk on Trent Woods Drive in memory of his late wife, Ann Moody. The Board expressed support for the community events and directed the organizer to coordinate with town staff on safety and logistics.
