Residents press county to protect Cliffview assisted living and seek traffic fix at Mary Jane/US‑40

Several residents used the public‑comment period to press the board on housing and transportation issues. Edna Anderson of Granby outlined assisted‑living costs locally and nationally and urged the county to provide more support for Cliffview Assisted Living, noting that assisted living is often far less expensive than nursing‑home care and that many families pay from savings and retirement funds. "In Grand County, assisted living costs $56,640 for a shared room and $65,880 for a private room," Anderson said, and she asked the commissioners for more information about county reserves.
Another resident, Jera Cullen, described long delays at the Mary Jane Road and Highway 40 intersection near the resort and proposed a hybrid traffic control solution that would flash during most hours but operate as a normal signal on busy weekend evenings. Chair replied that the intersection is already on the Northwest Transportation Planning Group's priority list and suggested communicating priorities to CDOT could help move the project forward.
Other public commenters raised separate community concerns including Forest Service staffing, relocation of bleachers, and the historic stewardship of development mitigation funds.
