Poulsbo council adopts flex‑space and permit‑timeline ordinances

The Poulsbo City Council on Dec. 11 voted unanimously to adopt two ordinances amending city code: Ordinance 2024‑17 (commercial flex space) and Ordinance 2024‑18 (permit‑review timelines).
Planning staff had opened a public hearing on both code amendments and noted there were no public speakers. The city attorney recommended handling each ordinance separately because they have different effective dates. Councilor McVeigh moved adoption of both ordinances in separate motions; both motions were seconded and approved on roll call voice votes.
Nicole Coleman, planning staff, said the amendments reflect prior workshops and recommended language approved by the planning commission. The permit‑timeline changes amend multiple sections of the Poulsbo Municipal Code to set clearer review periods and delete obsolete sections.
Council members asked no substantive questions during the hearing, and staff said the changes align code, policy and administrative practice. Both ordinances were adopted as presented, and staff will publish effective dates and amend the online municipal code.
