District facilities staff recommended implementation of Michigan’s Filter First Initiative using a $771,849 state grant to install filtered drinking fountains and bottle-fill stations across the district. Director Jon Barth and Assistant Director Luke Cadeau presented the recommendation and a timeline.
The plan calls for the Early Childhood Center to be completed ahead of the Oct. 24, 2025 deadline and for all remaining schools to be finished by the end of the 2025–26 school year. Board members asked questions that staff addressed during the presentation.
